Palm Beach Florida had its origin in 1909, the second oldest county in the South Florida Metropolitan Area. The largest city in Palm Beach Florida is West Palm Beach (Central County) and serves as the county’s capital where most of the local government offices are located.

 Palm Beach Florida

The very first settlers coined the name Palm Beach Florida in recognition of the abundance of palm trees in the county, especially those that dot the beaches. Palm Beach County is the largest in the State of Florida (2,386 miles square), blessed with sunshine and moderate weather all throughout the year. The east side of Palm Beach is untrammeled beach line, facing the Atlantic Ocean, ideal for resort facilities and vacation houses.

Since its inception in 1909, Palm Beach Florida only had a population count of 5,577 residents, a very low number indeed, considering that its population has low jumped to 1,287,987 in 2006, according to the University of Florida, Bureau of Economic and Business Research. Such number is really unprecedented, making Palm Beach the twenty-ninth most populous county in the United States.
